My name is Jinghui (Jove) Hou. I am a Ph.D. student in Annenberg School for Communication at University of Southern California. I received my MA degree in S.I. Newhouse School of Public Communications at Syracuse University. My research interests centre on the social psychological factors related to new media, especially in the effects of new communication technology elements upon users' thoughts, emotion, and behaviors. Another major interest of mine is investigating how young people are learning about civics as well as making political judgment in the Web 2.0 environment.

I earned my Bachelor of Science degree in Statistics from Fudan University, China in 2006. While an undergraduate, I worked for Center for Information & Communication Studies of Fudan University, where I assisted numerous large-scaled research projects including a China's 211 project sponsored by Chinese National Government with 500,000 RMB grant (highest amount in the field) and a cross national survey project in China and Japan sponsored by International Exchange Fund 2004 and etc.

My research interests got more focused when I came to Annenberg. A research agenda of social media and political psychology is being built up inch by inch as I got more paper published in this area.
